Surnames: Bair, Bowermaster
You asked for information about John Bair born 1810 in Somerset, PA and dying in Richmond, Cache, UT.
He was son of Adam Bair (born 12 March 1785)and Catherine Bowermaster of Westmoreland, PA
Adam was son of Henry Bair(1753)and Margarete who lived in Westmoreland, PA
Henry was son of Rudolph and Catharina Bair who lived in Westmoreland in 1783.
I have additional information about these family members, including a copy of letter by John Bair listing his forefathers from memory in 1874.
I am trying to research the Rudolph Bair and have narrowed the research to two Rudolph Bair's. The first came to America in 1739 on the ship Lydia and the other came in 1749 on the Ship Priscilla.
I beleive they lived in North Lancaster area (now Dauphin or Lebanon) in Upper Paxton area and Jonestown, Lebanon, PA prior to moving to Westmoreland.
Rudolph and Catherine Bair are not the family living in Cocalico, Lancaster, PA because they had moved to Westmoreland (about 1780) after Rudolph (Sr)in Cocalico died in 1764 and Rudolph (Jr) is still in Cocalico in 1800.
I hope this help you.

Cathy,
This could well BE my Catherine Bair. She was married to Johann Jost Walp/Walb. Johann was born 1735, so the dates fit well. Do you have any other BAIR information that may confirm this link?
Thank you so much.

Larry I think I have found most all of John Bair family in fact I copied all of the history thinking it was my family. I found it at a Latter Day Saints Church Family History Center in Okalhoma. All you need to do is go to the nearest largest town that has this church and ask them to order Micro film 1421818 item #18 @ $3.75. You have to leave it at their library but can look things up on the film at the church for 4 weeks and you can copy information off the micro film for so much a page. Any you have any questions E-mail me. Sincerely Carol (Bair) Holman
