I am related to a William Henry Laxton from Wells Somerset about 1840 or earlier. I think your William, married to Elizabeth Cadwallader, may be his son. I have them married in Tettenhall, Stafford, England, 1860. These are my great great grandparents. Their son, William Henry married Ida Jane Wood.We think Elizabeth and William Henry are buried in Lynchburg Va. Does any of this sound familiar? I would be interested in any information you can share on the Laxton and Cadwallader side.

Yes, I have:- Elizabeth along with Ida Jane and her sons William and Frank Edward and her daughter Mary Ellen came to Virginia in 1901.They settled in Lynchburg. gtp3066@phc.igs.net The original family was from the same area you mention, Tettenhall, Penn, near Wolverhampton STS - William Henry's mother was Elizabeth
Cadwallader,She married a William Henry Laxton prior to 1864 likely St.Thomas church Dudley, Her father was William
Henry Cadwallader. Some of the Cadwallader people came out to Trenton,NJ and were in the pottery industry. Perhaps the other correspondent can still be reached although it's 5 years ago now. Need some luck. GTP

I think I am the Ellen everyone seems to have lost track of. Elizabeth Cadwallader was born november 7, 1830 to William Henry Cadwallader and Sarah Robinson. She had a brother William who married Hannah and they had 12 children. She also had a sister Mary Ann who married a Blake. Elizabeth Cadwallader married a William Henry Laxton and had a son William Henry (also) who married Ida Jane Wood. Their son John Frederick is my grandfather. Their son Samuel Arthur is Elisa's Grandfather. Our Grandfathers are brothers.

Hi Ellen it's Elisa Laxton Herbert. remember me? It's been a very long time since we last spoke, and I'm wondering if you ever got any further with the Laxton family tree. William Henry Laxton and Ida Wood are my great grandparents. My grandfather is Samuel Arthur Laxton. I am Samuel Arthur Laxton Jr.'s youngest daughter. I have been unable to find you for several years - I think both of our emails have changed. You can contact me here or at elisaherbert@me.com. I hope to hear from you!!
