I have misplaced an old album with some documents in it...a family tree and my baptismal records from when I was a baby (I could just cry when I know so little about my heritage to begin with). I seemed to remember there mgiht have been someone listed on my baptismal records with the last name of Camero. I cannot remember the first name. I am going by something in the back of my memory. Does anyone here know of any Cameros that may have been in the Philippines around 1976? Any help may be appreciated. Or are any Cameros linked/related to any Magallanes? Thanks.

Carol

I felt pain when I read your note regarding the search for your family name roots. I don't think we are related, but we do have a surname in common, and therefore, I think of you as a relative nevertheless. My father was born in Texas in 1899. He claimed his father's name was Porfirio, and that he was adopted. I have often wondered. What really was his name? Did he take on his adopted family's name? Or did he keep his Camero surname? It makes you wonder. Doesn't it?
I bear my Camero surname with pride knowing that all Cameros have something in common. We are always looking for more Cameros. Right?

Carol,
That is my grandmother's maiden name and she's living in Cali. There's a bunch of Filipino Cameros also in Texas.

Do you know if they were Ilocano? If so, then most likely we are related.
