I am doing research on the Pruetts. My Lucinda Causey married a James Pruett on January 16, 1845 in coosa County, Alabama. If this is the same Lucinda could you tell me more about her. Where is she buried? Her children? Her marriage to James? Thanks for any information.

Dear Debra,
In my notes I find the following tidbits:
1840 census in Coosa County, Ala. on page 289 is listed Thomas, John and Ezekiel.

Coosa Co. 1850 records John (60), Rebecca (55), John (22), David (18), and Martha (16).

In the 1860 census a John Causey is in Talledega Co.(pg. 811) and a Rebecca is in Coosa Co. (pg. 343).
The Causeys were fond of the names William, John, and Elizabeth which makes tracking them very difficult. I am researching Wright Causey (married to Nancy Susan McKnight) who was possibly a brother to your John Causey. Haven't been able to connect him with parents as yet and that makes all data before his marriage to nancy very tentative. Good hunting!
Oh yes, you probably already have this but, I show John Causey and Rebecca Robertson as married Nov. 15, 1810 in Putnam Co., Ga.

Hi Georgia,
Yes, I have this info on John Rebecca their children, thanks. I have never been able to prove any siblings of my John, like you say the Causey's were fond of recycling names! I must have 8 or 10 Sarah and Martha Causeys in my files too, along with the ever popular John and William. Thanks for the reply.

Hi,
As far as I can determine, this Ezekiel Causey was b. 1759 in Maryland, and d. 1821 in Jefferson Co., GA. I am not aware of any SC connections to this particular Ezekiel. Thanks for your reply.
