I am researchin my family history and would like to try to find out any information I can on the surname Cuomo. My greatgranfather was Frank Cuomo who was married to Guisseppina Vanacore and lived in Massaquana in the town of Vico Equenza. He had a number of children. One of them was my granfather Joseph Cuomo who came to New York between 1912-1916. I am particularly interested in my Italian relatives who remained in Itlaly. My GG-grandmother was Filomena Cuomo, daughter of Domenico & Maria Vanacore, born in 1857 in Massaquano, Vico Equense. She married Noe Caccioppoli in 1876 in Massaquano, and emigrated to New York in 1911 with him and their 4 youngest of 12 children.
One of their sons married a Carmela Cuomo in 1901 in Massaquano.
My G-granduncle Luigi Grieco married Teresa Cuomo in the early 1900s. Both were from Massaquano.
I have a lot of Cuomos in the family - all coming from Massaquano. Contact me and let's see if we can help each other. Massaquano is not a big town. litlmo65@myfamily.com

My grandfather was a Francesco Cuomo married Regina Salvatore. They were from Fossacessia, Italy. Their children were Joseph, Nicholas, Valentino (in Canada), Albert (my father3/27/05-3/17/91) Concetta, Ida (Rochester,NY.) Luigi, and a daughter (in Italy). All of the above are deceased and the next generation has many still alive. What I find interesting is that so many of the names are the same and wonder if a few generations back they were related.

Hello Kim. I am Kathleen Cuomo granddaughter of Marie Citarella Cuomo and John R. Cuomo. Whose daughter/granddaughter are you? I am thinking of going to Vico later this year. I found my grandfather's name on the ship registery in the Ellis Island site.

I hope you are still active on Ancestry as your post was from 2001. Filomena and Noe were my Great Grandparents. Their daughter Vincenza Coppola was my Grandmother and she married John Coppola and my Mother was Philomena (named after her grandmother). I am writing about the family and need information on Filomena, date of birth and death. My Mother told me that Filomena died falling down the stairs in my Grandparents house in NY. I have a lot of information on the family as my Grandma and Mother loved to tell the stories and I loved to listen. please contact me I would love to chat with you
