I have data on descendants of Abel Duon and Anne d'Entremont and through Abel's father Jean-Louis Duon through his father Jean-Baptiste Duon to Mathieu (Pierre) Duon. It was spelled Duon years ago and also Duhon if any one is interesed. My parents link up to Abel Duon throuogh his two sons Paul and Augustin. Fran Dobson

I too am connected to Abel Duon. My
lineage is: Michelle DeLorey; my mother is
Marie Therese d'Eon DeLorey; her father
is Charles d'Eon; his father Augustin II
d'Eon (Duon); his father Mathurin Duon;
his father Augustin I Duon; his father is
Abel and Abel's father is Jean Baptiste
Duon! So we must be cousins.
I have quite a bit of info on the d'Eon

Hi Michelle, Thanks for your message. I have been doing genealogy for over 10 years now. It is indeed an enjoyable hobby. I have researced the d'Eon family which originally was spelled Duon which was changed to D'Eon after Paul Duon son of Able Duon. I have 2,862 thus far. I have been also doing the d'Entremont, LeBlanc, Barteaux and Pothier families which are also part of my roots. I have been working a lot on the LeBlanc name which is the most common french acadian of names and have 35,500 names thus far. The only family I am having trouble
with is Barteaux my paternal grandmother's maiden name. I have tried over and over for so many years and no one else seems to be able to get any further. I recently have been doing the Dobson family in particular the McToal's of Norther Ireland. This I had not pursued much because obtaining info can be costly but now because of the internet I have been able to obtain much more information from the first time back in 1997. I am quite pleased with myself because for one my husband's McToal family is where a genetic disorder Myotonic Dystrophy which
originated from Patrick McToal is paternal great grandfather and there are 8 in Ireland and 6 in Canada with the disorder including our two youngest of 4 children, I have children Marc, 28, Matthew, 26, Brian 23 and Kimberly 18.
Mathieu (Pierre) Duon was the first descandant and then Jean-Louis, Jean Baptiste, Augustin is where through his two sons Augustin and Paul my parents have a connection. My mother through Abel's son Augustin to Julien to Charles Desire to my maternal grandmother Therese d'Eon and then on my father's side from Abel's son Paul to Joseph to Monique D'Eon married to Remi Pierre d'Entremont to Theodore Pierre d'Entremont my paternal grandfather who married Annie Sarah Barteaux. I may have more info than you do. We could share if you want. Where are you from?
I live in Eastern Passage, Nova Scotia. Take a look at these webpages.

I just stumbled across this web site and I am excited to find out that I am probably related to a lady who wrote a message on May 8th 2000. Her name is Fran Dobson. I pulled out my family tree and I was following the names that she was giving. I have listed a Charles Desire d'Eon he was my great grandfather. Which makes Fran's grandmother and my grandfather brother and sister? I think that I am reading this right. Fran if you read this please reply and we can compare notes! Thanks so much...Charlene d'Eon-Weis

Dear Francine,
Thanks for your reply regarding our
"connection". I have been so busy that
I haven't had time to "play" on the
computer for weeks. I will write again
asap. I did look at your web-page.
My mother, Marie Therese d'Eon DeLorey
recently went to W.Pubnico by herself
(age 90) to visit with Lorette d'Eon d'Entremont her 100 year old sister and
she also visited her 99 year old sister in
Halifax before her flight home to Boston.
Pretty good, Huh?! The Acadians tend
to live a long time don't they. I hope we
can too, but of course it would be nice to
be healthy along with living a long life.
Keep in touch . You can e-mail me
directly if you wish
Thanks for responding....Michelle
