My gggrandmother, Elizabeth(lizzie)married George E. Watkins in Big Rapids, Mecosta county, Michigan on July 30, 1889. The marriage record shows her name as Lizzie Lang Droggs. Is Droggs taken from Drogowski? I have found them listed in the 1910 census in Grangeville, Idaho with a daughter Vera, 18yrs., daughter Cora,15yrs. (married name Fetterhoff),Cora's daughter, my grandmother is listed as Vera but should read Velda, and son Charles Watkins, 13yrs. It lists lizzie's parents as both being born in Germany. Lizzie was born in 1860 in Ohio, d.1940, Grangeville, Id.and George E.born 1863 in Ohio,d.1947 in Grangeville,Id. His father was born in New york and mother in Pennsylvania. If you have any information on this family please e-mail me, I have info to share.

My dad is now deceased and I'm unable to ask him but I remember him saying his name was Dragasek or Drogowski and it was shortened to Drolick. He had 2 sisters Anne and Mary, both deceased. Can you help me? My dad was born in 1912 and his sister Mary was older and Anne was younger. Frances

Frances, Thank you for responding. However at this point I don't think I can help, the only name I have is of my gggrandmother, Lizzie Lang Droggs. I only suspect that it comes from Drogowski. All I know about her family is that her parents were born in Germany but I have no names for them or of any siblings that Lizzie may have had. I am hoping to find that information and if it turns out to be connected to you I will definately let you know. Good luck with your search.

Dragowski emigrants normally used a small hook under the letter A.

English spelling versions:

Dragowska
Dragowska (traveling married female)
Drongowski (how Dragowski sounds with hook)
Drongowska (traveling married female)
