Have you tried Washburn? John Parker Hoog and William Allen Hoog are buried at Washburn Prairie Cemetary. I have never heard of any of the other Hoogs being there but they might be. What Hoog information do you have? I am a descendant of John Parker Hoog and have had a terrible time doing any genealogy on the Hoog family. Do you have any infromation on William Allen Hoog? He is one of my great curiousities.

PEGGY HOW ARE YOU... ARE YOU STILL TEACHING SCHOOL AND WORKING FOR DAIRY QUEEN DURING THE SUMMER?? IT HAS BEEN ALONG TIME. THE INFORMATION I HAVE IS LIMITED.....MY NOTES ARE FROM VERIL E. HOOG (GOES BY WAYNE) IN SULPHUR SPRINGS, ARK.....I HAVE REASON TO BELIEVE WAYNE DIED IN JAN.1999...I SPENT SOME TIME WITH HIM AND THIS IS WHAT I FOUND OUT......WAYNE WROTE TO ME....I TEND TO BELIEVE YOUR FARTHEST REMOVED RELATIVE KNOWN TO ME IS WILLIAM ALLEN HOOG WHO WITH TWO SONS WILLIAM W. AND JOHN PARKER CAME TO THE AREA FROM BENTON CONTY, TENNESSEE, AFTER THE CIVIL WAR. I AM FROM THE JOHN PARKER LINE. YOU ARE PROBABLY FROM THE WILLIAM W. LINE...GREAT UNCLE BILL(W.W.) WAS BORN 14 APR 1852 AND DIED DURING WORLD WAR 1 (JAN 9, 1919). hE AND HIS SECOND WIFE (BARBARA), LUCY P.(HIS DAUGHTER) HER HUSBAND (CODY LONG) ARE BURIED IN THE GAR CEMETERY NORTH OF SULPHUR SPRINGS. HIS FIRST WIFE (JEMINAE---YES. THATS THE SPELLING IN THE CEMETERY BOOK, WHICH IS ONE OF THE REASONS I THINK YOU BELONG TO THE FAMILY) AND THREE CHILDREN (ROBERT, HADASTA AND ALBERT) AR BURIED AT BUTLER CREEK CEMETERY. JEMIMAE DIED 12 FEB 1890.....
PEGGY RIGHT NOW I DON'T HAVE MUCH FOR YOU BUT MAYBE THIS WILL HELP....WAYNE LIVED IN SULPHUR SPRINGS, ARD TEL. 501-298-3348...HE ALSO DID RESEARCH AT THE BENTON CO. GEN SOC.

My father (according to SSA records)died in Atlantic City, NJ in 1967. He remarried a woman named Isabel (who also passed away). I last saw him when I was eight, in 1954. My mother's name was Agnes (Baranowski). They were married ca.1943 in Hollywood Fla. I was born in Boston, in 1944.

Marilyn,
My Grandmother was Evelyn Flora Hoog (she changed the spelling to Hoag)--daughter of William Parker Hoog. I've found the same information on William Parker as you...that he likely died about 1970. On an aside, in the early 80's, my sister was working at a nursing home in Southern California. She found a resident there named William Hoog. His mind was very febile, so she couldn't get much information from him. When she told Grandma about it, Grangma went to the nursing home with her father's SS number, to see if it was him. They couldn't release any information to her. She visited with him for awhile. She was very upset after the visit. She said there was no way that was her father, but it certainly stired her up.

Recently, my dad told me that someone in the family found William Parker Hoog in Las Vegas in the late 1960's. He was in poor health then, so I doubt the elderly gent Grandma tolked to in Southern California was her dad. Maybe you should look around the Vegas area for obits, or burial information.

Steve,

I've been working on my family tree recently. Hoog was my maternal Grandmother's name. I've got William Allen Hoog (sometimes listed as Hoogs) b:Aug 20, 1824. d:Nov 30, 1882 in Keetsville, MO. m:(Sarah Ann Baggett)Sept 9, 1846 in Benton TN.

William Allen's dad was William Hoogs b:feb5, 1770 in Newton, MA. Nothing else on his life.

William Hoogs dad was also William Hoogs b: 1741 in Boston, MA. d: Sept 29, 1802 in Newton, MA. m: (Elizabeth Stoddard) Nov. 8, 1763 in Boston, MA.

That 's as far as I have got on the Hoogs. I've got Elizabeth Stoddard's parents, grandparents and great grand parents.

I hope that gives you some starting info for the other information on towns and siblings.
