Doesn't appear to be a lot of action on the Maresch message board. My Grandfather was Frank Maresch,Jr.1888-1965, he was the son of Frank Maresch, Sr.1845-1932. Frank,Sr. came from Bohemia(we think)with a brother to the Chicago area. Does anyone have info. to share on this line?

I haven't talked with you for so long, about 25 years. I have moved from the Chicago area, to Lexington, Ky to Carson City, NV. I guess I'm trying to make it to California to be with the rest of the family. Seriously, I was happy to see your note on the ancestry board. I just joined. Marsha was trying to track everyone a few years ago. Sherri is also still trying to track our ancestors. About 11 years ago when I had a chance to visit Germany, there were some Mareschs in the Stugard area.

Let me know what your address is. Our new address is 2045 Sue Circle, Carson City, NV 89706. My phone # is 775-841-2438. If you are ever in the area, please call me and stay awhile. Gary is also living in Nevada, in Ely.

It has been a long time, I'm thinking that it is far longer than 25 years. Maybe at your Dad's funeral in 1963, or at your Mom's in '83. And I'm sure we didn't spend any time visiting. As you can see from the message board there isn't much happening with the Maresch Family History. You were my only nibble! I think the information that I posted was correct. The brother's name may have been Louis and he may have gone to St. Louis to live. Anyway the story goes that Great Grandfather Maresch met Antonie Suchomel on the streets of Chicago and they were married 3 weeks later. I'm enough of a romantic that I like the story. Frank, Sr. and Louis had brothers and sisters that did not come to America. They lived in Czeck. and apparently had very hard lives. We also believe that they were of the Catholic religion (or some of them were). You are right, there are a lot with the Maresch name in Germany. More than anywhere else and with the name being a bit unusual they could easily be related. You might ask about some of this if you visit with Aunt Doris or Aunt Marie. Having lived near Grandma and Grandpa for many years, they may know some of this or help add to it. Mom thought that Tommy was doing some genealogy at one time. I have mainly been working on the Hays side and haven't done much of that this summer.
I don't like to put to much personal information on this, but you can e-mail me at shays@youreon.net- Anyone else that has an interest in the Maresch name can do the same!! Actually I like the genealogy on the message board, as I think that is the best way to find others that might have an interest. It was great hearing from you.

Hi to you and to Linda, as I see she has joined the group. It has been a very long time since we have all been together. I was telling Mom the last time I saw her about the time we(can't remember exactly who or when)went up in the mts. to a house(I think Uncle Dan was building)and set on the floor and looked out over the lights of the city and talked to the wee hours(or at least until we had to go home. As you can tell my memory isn't so good, but my guess is that was almost 40 years ago. I will have to correct one thing on Grandpa Frank's brother. His name was John Maresch. So if we could find any of his ancestors, we would have a few more cousins. I'm sure there are some, but unless they find us, I wouldn't know where to start. How's all the California relatives??

hello
