I am looking for any info on him. My grandfather did a family tree a while go and found out that our family tree goes back to the famous general. My grandfathers name is Taylor Ramel. I am thinking when my ancestors came to America they change the name to Ramel.

I would be interested in your tree. My family too is related to the General. Supposidly he is my 9th cousin removed. My great-great-grandmother was his grandmother. Our family moved to Phila, PA and kept the Rommel name. A cousin of mine has done a lot of research. He has been to Germany to visit family still there. He still carries the Rommel name.

I will talk with my dad and my grandpa and ask them how we are related to him. I know my grandpa has a family crest. I will ask about that too.

I have not seen the family crest. I'd like to see that too.
My information for our Rommels goes back to the 1500's. Apparently, we should all be related if they came from Germany at some time. My info basically follows down from each person drirectly to me. It has the brothers and sisters if know but doesn't go into detail on them. Now that I am continuing the work already done, I have branched out with all the family members. That should make it easier for future generations to be able to connect.

Cool, I would like to look at what you have done so far. I plan on calling my grandfather this weekend to get the info and I will ask him what the crest looks like.

How to connect?

How can we get each others e-mail without posting any personal information here? Any ideas. I have a family website, basically my husbands side with the tree posted. I can send you an invite via your e-mail as it is not open to everyone to visit.

I am researching my ggg grandmothers ancestors, and have reached a brick wall. I do know for sure that she was sister with the generals father. Perhaps we can exchange information?

Dear Lois,
I am also a Rommel decendant. My Rommel's came from Germany and settled in Louisiana in 1720. I have a lot of information on that branch of the family if you are interested. I would also be interested in any other branches of the Rommel family if you would like to share. I would really be interested in the Rommel family Crest. I can be reached at Thank You, Shannon McClendon
