I'm looking for information related to the Van Name family. They lived in Northfield, Staten Island. Aaron Van Name had a daughter, Catherine, born in 1756. Catherine married Jacob Van Pelt (born 1755, died 1833). Catherine may have had a brother named Charles Van Name. The name Simon Van Name might fit in here, too. Aaron Van Name had land transactions with Abraham DeHart.

I have an article that talks about the will of Aaron Van Name. In the will he mentions his sons, Aaron, Moses, Charles, and William. He also mentions his daughters Elizabeth (Hulburd), Catherine (Van Pelt), Mary (De Hart), and Anne. The dates look right. If you want a copy or more info you can e-mail me,(tpzheller@msn.com).

Re Aaron Van Name b 8/11/1718 d 1797 Staten Island buried the Reformed Church of Port Richmond. Aaron was drowned. I have a photo of his gravemarker if you are interested. It is in the background of Mersereau markers at the reformed church. I believe Aaron was the son of Simon and Sarah of Staten Island.

Do you have any information on the John Van Pelt who married the widow Ann Durrua in Northfield in 1828? She had 2 minor children at the time, Cypre and Pierre, who were put under the guardianship of David Van Name. This John Van Pelt would have been born around 1780-1790. Ann was my ggg grandmother.
