Surnames: Stewart, Douglas
Hi. I'm looking for any information on my Stewart ancestors, begining with Margaret Stewart, Countess of Angus who was born in 1325. She was the mistress of William Douglas, Earl of Douglas and had at least one child by him, a son, George Douglas, First Earl of Angus.

George married Mary Princess of Scots (daughter of King Robert Stewart III and Annabella Drummond) on May 24, 1397 in Scotland and had 3 children by her: Elizabeth "Mary" Douglas - Lady Forbes (by marriage) b. approx. 1398, Sir William Douglas - 2nd Earl of Angus b. approx. 1399, George Douglas - 4th Earl of Angus b.approx. 1404. George died of the plague and Mary subsequnetly remarried 4 times.

But I could go on and on about the descendants of Margaret Stewart, but that's not what I'm typing this for. I would dearly love to know if anyon has anymore information on Margaret Stewart, Countess of Angus, the mistress of William Douglas - Earl of Douglas. Thanks for reading.

Not exactly what you are looking for, but you must be a direct descendent from King Robert the 11 and 111 are you, or close direct desendent. If so, I have something interesting to show you, because that would be from the 1st King of the Stewart lineage. I'm also looking for professional research people to varify the item I found.

Ok, Send me your e-mail address, and get ready to be dazzled. And by the way, I think that King Robert 11 neice who married a Fraser, although spelled in the research of someone else is spelled Frazier, that we are distance cousins. Probably around 14 or so, My sister has managed trace back to our Fraser heritage to the 11th century.

These silver objects found me! I think. I found through my research on silver that ancient people and religions believed silver to hold not only religious powers, but also supernatural, this may be apparent why the early church hord so much silver. I have asked my sister to bring back her research on Fraser, and how they relate to the Royals of Scotland throughout different times in history. I'll give details of this amazing story how I found the object in my e-mail. Also, if you know of any professor who can varify these silver objects please lead me to him or her, because I think the original owner of these objects, (that is the spirit) is using me as a medium to find it's way home.

I've got your e-mail, will reply tomorrow from my own computer. In the mean time, think my previous post will make other Stewart families wonder. And this is the reason why I posted here on the board.
Regards,
Mary Ann

I don’t have a date of birth for her, but 1325 would be closer to her mother's date of birth than her own. "She was very young at her father's death [1261], perhaps seven years old." Margaret was the daughter of Thomas Stewart, 2nd Earl of Angus and Margaret St. Clair (dispensation to wed 1353). In an arrangement with her sister Elizabeth, she took the title Countess of Angus and Mar [SP I:170-1].
