Does anyone know what happened to the records of St. Joseph's (actually, it may have been in Bethany, a suburb of OK City). I thought they went to St. Gregory's in Shawnee, but was told by a priest there that they had nothing. Thanks!!

I am looking for info in St. Joseph's. My mother and uncle were brought there by their father from Alabama. Neither were ever adopted. Not much info here

Contact the Catholic Archdiocese in OKC - they have the records - I wish you luck, because in my case, 8 years were dissolved into 1 sheet, without a lot of information -

We asked about the records and movies that were taken and they had been in the basement where there had been a terrible flood. That is all I know my name as a child was Judy Kidder I had a twin sister named Jane

Thanks for answering -- I haven't been on this in awhile, and my Dad passed away last Fall. Maybe your answer explains why there was only one brief sheet on him when I asked. He was there for about 8 years.

I have a strong interest in the records from St. Joseph Orphanage also. Have you found the records yet? I had several family members who were there in the 1930s and early 1940s. I would love to share the little bit I have found with you.

I am sorry I just found your post on this subject. I just posted a reply to the last entry then read yours. My mother, her brothers and sisters were at St. Joseph's Orphanage in the late 1930s and early 1940s. Do you remember any children with the last name Hardin? My mother was Wanda Marie Hardin and I think she was there until 1942. I would love to correspond with you. Now that my Mom is gone I would like to know more about her childhood.
