Samuel a 3rd or 4th ggf of my wife is listed in the Patriot index on page one as having served during the Revolutionary War. I would appreciate any leads as to his length of service, type of duty, etc. We are making contact with the DAR to see if anybody has applied thru his son Asaph. Thanks

I have six Samuel’s listed as being in the Revolutionary War, but no family data. Please e-mail me and I will send the names and references that may help you learn more about these people. four are listed as New York and two as Connecticut.

Thanks for your message. My email is pw135@aol.com, there is no way that I can find yours fron the post of the board. The Samuel Abbey I am looking for was married to a Sarah Warren Leland; had Asaph whom my wife descends from; was the son of Benjamin Abbey of Salem Village, MA.
Asaph Abbey born in Portland,Conn. August 26,1776.
This I would think indicated that Samuel was with the Conn. troops

Samuel Abbey..........How many were there?

Hello:
I too have searches the archives for the Rev. War 'Samuel Abbey'. My Samuel was son of Ebenezer and Abigail Savage (listed as Abigail Cary in some files). He was born in 1745. He and Samuel, son of Gideon, both lived in Mansfield, Tolland, Conn. at outbreak of Rev. War. One of them enlisted in service. A Samuel Abbey was member of the Trainband which was a civil group during that time. Have research data re. the above.
Hope to settle this some day????

I am doing a project on the more obscure 'participants' in the Salem Witch Trials. I have come across the names of Mary Abbey accuser and Samuel Abbey. What I am looking for is family background info. & theories about why this particular person was involved.
Thanks
