Hi Chris. I'm not sure if I have a connection to your relatives, as your info goes back a bit further than mine. But here's what I have: my g-grandfather Patrick Joseph Walsh was born in February 1860, the son of John Walsh & Susanna Abrahams. They lived in Cloondahara, Castlerea, Roscommon. Other children were John (b. 1861), Martin (b. 1863), and Mary (b. 1866). This info is from St. Patrick's Church in Castlerea. Please let me know if any of these people are connected to your family.

Hi Mark
Thanks for your enquiry into my Walsh family. I am unsure if your lot is connected to mine as I don't have a real lot to go on at this stage:

Matthew Walsh born c1818 father Luke Walsh. Matthew married Mary Brady C1839 and were in Australia by 1841. Nothing much is recorded on their Death certificates other than Roscommon as place of birth. I am not sure where in Roscommon. I am still searching for infomation. If I find anything I will let you know. Your connection may be through a family member still in Ireland but I am unsure at this stage.

bye for now
chris

Hi Mark,
I have just come received the babtismal record of my great grandfather Michael Walsh (b-1828) from Castlerea. His parents were Michael Walsh and Frances Abram and I am wondering if they have any connection to your John walsh and Susanna Abrahams ?

Not sure if you are still monitoring this inquiry. I have John Walsh who married Brigid Flanagan/Flanigan. They had children James, Edward, Mary, John, Brigid, and Eleanore/Ellen Jane. Luke appeared in the Tithe Applotment book with John.

Hi, What area were John Walsh and Luke Walsh living in? The original Luke Walsh came from the townland of Culleen East in Elphin parish in Roscommon. I am Christine's cousin, from the first query in this thread. This sounds like our family as Luke Walsh's wife was Margaret Flanagan/Fanigan. They were both deceased when my gg grandfather Matthew Walsh and his wife Mary Brady emigrated to Australia on the 'Lady Clarke' in 1841

Linda - In Tithe records I've found, Luke and John were in Runnaroddaun (spelled Runarodane in the records). John also lived in Stonepark. Haven't been able to find an birth or marriage records on him. But I know he married Brigid Flanagan and had children James (1829), Edward (1831), John (1832), Mary (1835 - an early "Mary" was born 1834 but apparently passed away), Brigid/Bridget (1840) and Eleanor/Ellen Jane (1842). The children were born in either Runnaroddaun or Stonepark. Parish listed was Elphin which was probably the Civil Parish as the actual parish for the towns are Kilmaclumsy. Edward, Mary, Bridget and Ellen emigrated to the US (NJ although Ellen married and resided in New Orleans for a time). No idea what happened to the others. Have you or your cousin completed a DNA test?
