I am looking for information on Grover Wallace French ..Born in Cardiff , NY....Father was William Wallace French married to Nellie Hauser his mother...Grover Wallace married Elsie M. Butterley...She died in 1925 from complications of childbirth...I would like for someone to send me her obit..I think it was Dec 1925 that she passed away,,,Grover Wallace French was a carpenter all his life and volunteer fireman...He died in 1960...and also....Nellie Hauser French...I need her obit also....She died in l922 or l923...Nellie lived in Cardiff and Grover and Elsie lived in Nedrow or Syracuse....I think the Frenchs are related to the Everinghams also.....Would appreciate.... any info you could give me on this family...Related to Hotalings also on my Grandmothers side...(Elsie Butterley French...Thank you for your time....Pamela French Brown/Granddaughter

Nellie died in 1936 as Mrs. Nellie J. Hayes, age 81.

Obit in Syracuse Journal--HAYES--At the Onondaga General Hospital, Sept. 14, 1936, Nellie J. Hayes, aged 81 years. Survived by three daughters, Mrs. Frank Haynes, Mrs. Jeanette Tibbitts, Mrs. Alan Anderson, one son, Grover W. French. Funeral Wednesday, 2 p.m., from the funeral home, 457 James st. Burial Cardiff. Friends invited. Arrangements Bert W. Day.

Nice to meet you...Sorry its over the computer....I do not have alot of info on the French side and where they came from or the Buttlerley side...Just looking on ancestry .com and trying to find what I could and what I have been told growing up....I have info on most of my cousins in New York but basic stuff....Don and I started some years ago ( Aunt Loretta's oldest son.)Most of my work is going to cemetery's...and looking on Ancestry.com....I was up in New York a few years back..went to Ononadaga Libraury and genealogy dept...Was great would like to go again....Never found out where my grandfather was born... I think I know they lived in Cardiff...Never could get a copy of a birth certifcate...My father was Grover William French Jr...He retired from the USAF...and was in World WarII..My Dad use to tell me alot of stories about growing up...I had a hard time trying to find my ggrandmother Nellie J French Haynes....She must have remarried again...I think her name was Hauser or Houser(Maiden name)...Would appreciate any thing you have that might help me some..My mothers name was Sadie Hazel Lee Sessions French...My family here in Horry County,SC goes back 7 or more generations....but some of that was real easy...Thank you for taken the time and its always a pleasure to meet someone that new my relatives..Your help would be greatly appreciated...Thank you...Pamela French-Brown...

Good to meet you too. As you know, Don passed away in 2008 from cancer. We use to see Don & Judy often. I have only seen Judy once since Don's passing. Both wonderful people.

Ron is in Tully now. He has some trouble with his legs and finally retired. We hope to meet him and Linda at our daughter's in PA in about 2 weeks. Our kids grew up together, and Linda is related to my wife. Have met Duane, but its been several years now.

I had Grover's birth as June 6, 1885 in Cardiff. Some of the census records he was in Lafayette, but I understand that the village of Cardiff is in the township of Lafayette. Understanding the geography is helpful. You are probably aware that his parents divorced and that he was raised by father's sister Jane Wright. He is in the 1900 census as Grover Wright, age 15, nephew of Ebenezer & Jane. You probably have that too.
