Does anyone have any info on Christopher C Bratton or Alexander Bratton (not the tailor who died in VA)? My father is Marion Monroe Bratton, III. His father, Marion Sr., was born to Christopher Bratton (son of Alexander and Salina Noil Bratton OR John and Salina Noil Cunningham). Christopher and Marion Sr. both deserted their respective families when the children were small. I can't seem to find marriage records on Salina/Alexander Bratton to figure out who Christopher's father is. And, I can't find anything past Alexander or Salina. Alexander was born in VA around 1809 and Salina was born in TN around 1810. Christopher's older siblings were Malvina and Lemuel S. Bratton (from Alexander and Susan Crownover Bratton). All lived in Dekalb County, AL before moving to Union County, MS.

I am looking for information on George Bratton (Brattin/Bratten/Britton) (b. 1807, PA) who was living in St. Clairsville, Belmont Co., OH in 1850. He is listed on the census as living with Steel Smith. I do not know who his wife or parents were.

I believe he had four children. Three of children were apparently at the county "poor house" (infirmary/county home) in Richland Twp, Belmont Co.
-Solomon Brattan, age 9, and Amey Brattan, age 4, are listed with Seth Mitchner's family. Seth was a farmer at the poor house.
-William Bratten, age 12, was with Levi Pickering, Jr. The Pickerings owned about 500 acres and part of the land is where the poor house was built. Levi's son later became Infirmary Master. (In his later life the spelling was changed to BRITTON)
-George Brattin (Jr.), age 14, was with James ?Vankie? family who lived two houses down from Levi Pickering, Sr. in Wayne Twp, Belmont Co.
