I am looking for information on John DuBy/Duba/Dube who was born in Canada around 1806. He may have moved to Vermont and then on to New York. I have his genealogy in New York starting around 1843. Any information would be greatly appreciated

Patricia,
Sorry, My "Alfred" married Helen Godin in 1904, Alfred was the son of William DuBreuil (Dubra, Duba) and Catherine Houle. William (b: Jan 10, 1841 in NY) was the son of the John DuBa that I am trying to research. Where is your father from? His parents? We have some Pelletiers in the Redford, NY area. This is the area where I end up and can go back no further. Wish I could be of more help. I have found many times that they used their middle name as their first. What was your grandfathers full name? My fathers whole family went by their middle name!

TO JANE VENNE My father was Frederick Marshall Duby and have been told his father had same name. His mother was Lida Louise Pelletier/Peltier. Have been told she was born Jolliette Quebec Canada ,also told Cohoes N.Y. I have no idea which is correct. Dad said his grandparents where Gilbert Pelletier and Roselie Vincent, but The two couples listed by those names do not include my father or his siblings. I can give you grandmothers siblings names but know nothing at all on my grandfather. I hope we can help each other. Have a wonderful Christmas!

Pat
The John that I am looking for was born around 1806. The death certificate of his son Peter says that Peter's father (John) was born in Canada. Where are you from? My line is around Clinton County, NY
