Hi, my name is Karen O'Casey.
I think I am somehow related to Bridgett O'Casey.
I notice she died in NSW Australia.
My Father was Patrick Michael Terrence O'Casey, and we seem to be the only O'Caseys in Australia at the moment.
He thought his mothers name was Mary Cathleen Murphy, but he also thought the Mary Cathleen might have been the ship they came out on, He also thought he came from Tasmania after leaving County Cork Ireland.
There is evidence that my dads real name was Michael, and we think his dads name was Michael, his dad was apprantly a sailor.
At some stage my dad became a orphan, but he couldn't remember details which was rather annoying.
I am hoping we can help each other,
Sincerely, Karen Lee O'Casey.

My Bridget Casey died in Annagh, Murroe, a parish east of Limerick City. The Casey farm was near my Guinane farm there.
So I think your line is a different one - good luck! You can order certificates (once dates & names are known) from www.genfindit.org (or.com).

Hi Nancy

Do you know anything else re PATRICK GUINANE (bap: Mar 3, 1864).
I have a Patrick Guinane born roughly about that time in Ireland- married a Bridget (may be a Ryan or an Hennessey)Living in Accrington, Lancashire, England in 1901 (UK census)Charter Street

My Patrick had at least 4 children Catherine, John, Dan, Bridget. I believe there were more children ....Ellen,Ellen I believe took the name Hennessey.
Bridget I have been told was born in Nenagh Tipperary although I have no proof of this.
Dan married a Barbara Ferguson and is found traveling to the USA with either freinds or relatives (Mason's) from Accrington England . The final destination being shown as Montreal Canada (shown as Guinann).
Catherine (Kate) Guinane married Ehpriam Mayes in Accrington.
John Guinane no information other than living in Accrington (1901 UK census)
Bridget Guinane (daughter) married Charles Flynn In Accrington in 1907 sacred heart church aged about 21 and died there in 1964.
Ellen Hennessey marred a riley in Accrington.Sacred Heart Church.

any help would be great
Pete Flynn
ps sorry re the spelling (I hate anything without a spell check !)

My Patrick Guinane, son of Thomas Guinane & Bridget Casey, of Annagh Townland, Murroe Parish, Co Limerick , who was baptised Mar 5, 1864, married Margaret Morgan in Chicago. He became an attorney.
Above Thomas Guinane, baptised Jan 4, 1818 in Murroe, was the first child of Timothy Guinane & Mary Rainsford of Murroe.
It is quite likely that your Patrick was from a related Guinane line, as the name was not very common, and Nenagh isn't far. Descendants of "my" Guinane's live in Nenagh today.
I'm currently trying to find the siblings of Timothy Guinane & will post anything I find.
Best wishes,
Nancy

Hi there,

Im tracing back my own family tree, have gotten back as far as my great great grandmother Bridget Rainsford who married a John Flynn in Murroe. They had their first son John Flynn, inMarch 1884. Im wondering is there any connection between Bridget Rainsford and Mary Rainsford? Cannot find any information on the Rainsford family anywhere.

There are Rainsfords still living in Murroe and Doon, nearby (where there was a Rainsford Grocery, now closed). Some claim to be different lines than "mine" but I wonder if they are connected further back. I met a wonderful lady, Sara Rainsford, who is connected to my family, about 5 years ago, who has since passed away. She lived down the road from Annagh, in Cappanahanagh, also in Murroe. There is also a researcher of Rainsfords from this area in Ireland in the US, and I could connect you. "His" Rainsfords lived near Newport, Tipperary, just "up" the road.
I have never found my Mary Rainsford's family, so would be glad to share what I have. My email: nancyperegrine@yahoo.com.
