I know the stacks and kellys
were both from cork; i'm actually
looking for info on both; the stacks
came first and my grandfather Dick's
father (name unknown til i do more research)
is unknown, worked for the nyc water dept.
(i guess when it was a reservoir at what was
the old madison square garden).... his family
i think came in the 1840s or before, the Kellys were from
Cork and went first to Quebec (mabe Ontario)
the village burnt to the ground and wound up
going to NYC (to what is now East Harlem); still (just starting) doing research, e-mail
me if any of this is of interest (both the
stacks and kellys were supposed to be - once-
bar owners w/"view of ocean". stack, as an
american name, esp. in metro areas, is as
common as smith, jones, brown

My family is from Ireland. I am not quite sure where but it may help?? My family has kept the name Robert Stack through the generations. It has been passed down. There is Robert W. Stack the oldest and Robert M. Stack. If you recognize theses names contact me.
