Searching for information on:

Samuel Jackson Tittle b. [circa] 1818 in TN. He married Sarah Vandvender [circa] 1843. They were the parents of seven daughters: Artilia A. Louisa
Roxana
Samuella
Mexico
Sarah
Mary Tennessee
Florence

They resided in Attala County, MS, [Kosciusko] in 1860 1870. I believe that Samuel Tittle may have died between 1870 1876 but have been unable to find proof. I am also trying to find out the names of Sam's parents or any possible siblings. Census records state that he was born in TN he lived in Kemper County, MS, in 1850. Any clues would be much appreciated!

There is a Samuel Tittle in the 1830 Census of Ohio Co, Wheeling, VA. These Tittles may be connected with the Ohio Tittles of Belmont Co, OH. See if you can find the Census and see what it says about Samuel.

My Great grandmother was Emma Tittle. She was born in Alabama 7 Aug 1863 and died in Tennessee 10 Feb. 1918. As far as we know, her father was named Wyatt Tittle. Wyatt Tittle and his family lived in Wayne County Tennessee in 1880, as they are listed in the 1880 census for that county. Emma E. Tittle married Andrew Jackson Gilchrist on 25 Dec 1880 in Wayne County, Tennessee. All I can find out about Wyatt Tittle is that someone with the same name had a widow named Maria who collected on his military pension in 1890 in Missouri. I am stuck, too. I hope some of this helps!

Thank you so much for the info!
It really helps when someone has been at this longer than I have been. I heard from someone else that J. Dodd also has very good information. he is at tnstate.com/jdodd
Sometimes it's hard to get into that site, though!
