Looking for information on John Cole, Sr., married to Mary?. Their daughter, Nancy, b. abt 1775 d abt 1829 was married to Absalom Bailey of Union County, SC. Please either post your reply, or respond to me directly Janet0153@aol.com

Janet - I have your John! Don't know wife Mary's last name, either. I have Nancy's husband as Absalom. Also, Nancy's sister Lucy married a Jordan Bailey. Any relation to Absalom??
John, Sr. is the next youngest of six children of Richard Cole (b. 1717, Boldrup, Warwick Co, VA; d. 12 Feb 1781, Louisa Co, VA - Land owner and Planter) and his first wife, Lydia Hansford HILL (b. 1720, York Co, VA; d. 1755, Louise Co, VA).

Lydia Hansford 1744 or 1746 - ?
Rebecca 1746/1750 to 1814/15

I've been looking for a missing link for about 5 years, so I wonder

I don't think what I have will help..... I believe John 1738-1799) to be the eldest child (and not the next youngest as I earlier thought) of Richard COLE (1717-1781)and Lydia Hansford HILL. John's eldest son was another Richard (1758-1807). His son (another John - 1801-1877) had a daughter Luvina (1821-1890) and a granddaughter Malvina (1846-1905). These are the only two COLE females with "vina" in their names that I have! Malvina married a GARDNER and I have no marriage info for Luvina. And no Joseph HIX or HICKS anywhere....
