Surnames: Hamilton
Looking for any information regarding

Francis M Hamilton Sr (usually listed as FM or FN Hamilton)
b 1824 probably North Carolina (as given on the 1860 census)

Present in Fayette Co. for at least 3 census'

1860 District 7

Lists Francis, his wife and all of the children as having been born in North Carolina

1870 District 8 all listed as having been born in Tennessee.

1880 District 6 all listed as having been born in Tennessee.

Francis and his wife Elizabeth had at least 8 children including my direct ancestor George Washington Hamilton Sr.

1900 and 1910 Francis' widow Elizabeth is listed in Shelby Co., Tennessee

1900 with her son Sterling B Hamilton and his family

1910 with her son, the widowed George W Hamilton and his young children.

I have been unable to trace these Hamiltons back to N Carolina nor find evidence of Elizabeth's maiden name.

I would like to know where Francis M and Elizabeth are buried as well as George W Hamilton Sr if anyone has this information.

Appreciated

I am a descendant of Sterling Hamilton. He was my grandfather's dad (i believe that is correct). The ancestry family tree viewer is down for maintenance right now so i will have to look later. My grandfather was Claude Hamilton he had a twin sister named Maude Hamilton, their mother was Irena Etta Ross and father was Sterling Hamilton. This would make us distant cousins i think?

I dont have much information about the Hamilton's i am just starting to do research and have came to a brick wall as you have. lol
