FTM 12 for Mac - Ancestry family view problems

I did a sync with FTM 12 for Mac, which I am learning is not a very good piece of software, and now I have some of my family members appearing multiple times in family view on Ancestry. I do a search for these members and they only display once in the search.
Have I messed up my Ancestry page?
I am ready to part ways with FTM. It is junk.

This isn't a problem with FTM. It's a problem with Ancestry. I have it happen all of the time, especially when I have intermarriages on the tree.

FTMM2 may be junk (I have the PC version so I only know what I've read), but in this case it ain't at fault.

Marco,
Thanks for the reply. Good to know. I guess this confounds to my problem then.

Most of the time I can fix the family view at Ancestry if I change the focus to another person. I do that by hovering over a name and clicking the link to show that person's tree. Sometimes I have to do this with 4-5 different people before it displays without all the duplicates and super goofy spacing. Sometimes I just give up too.

Does it help get rid of all the additional entries? I have some parent branches that go from 4 to 40 kids.

Well, like I said, it doesn't always work, but sometimes it does remove the duplicates (i.e., gets rid of all the additional entries), or sometimes it gets rid of enough of them in the area of the tree I'm interested in that it works good enough for me. All I can say is next time it happens, try moving the focus to another person.

Note, however, that with intermarriages it's often necessary to duplicate people because they do in fact appear on more than one branch, and interconnecting lines from one end of the tree to another would be a mess. I think this is what Ancestry.com is trying to do when this happens, but it never seems to work right for me. My family view often looks more like a tangled skein than a tree.
