I may have the info you are looking for. I have a John Ekins (b. 3 July 1785 - d. 1857) married Mary Eaton on 15 Feb 1819. Mary was born abt 1792 and died in 1872. I show them with 6 children. I have info on the children and their families. I also have john's parents and grandparents. Unfortunately I don't have any info on Mary's family.

You are an answer to a prayer. I have been researching
this family for years. I must have much of the same info as you on John Ekins family. I have some on the Eaton family as well. I know that the parish register said John was the son of Thomas Ekins but didn't give the mother. I am interested in his mother's name. The Bishop's Transcript gives the name of Elizabeth, but I have doubts about that because I find no other Thomas and Elizabeth having children at the time. Please share this ino with me. I would be so appreciative. I will be happy to share what I have on the Eatons. Her father was Thomas Eaton. His father was also a Thomas. I have both of their wills, which lists the other children. I am not sure who Mary's mother was. I am going to England this summer and hope to find that out. I would love corresponding and sharing info with you. Thanks, Karen

Thanks for your response. I know that many people think Robert and Sarah were John's parents, but I don't think so.
There were three John Ekins born about the same time including the son of Robert and Sarah. There son died as an infant. I believe that he was born 3 July 1785 and died in September of that year. I have John Ekins death certificate which indicates he was born/ christened 3 July 1785. He is the son of Thomas Ekins and ......... The parish register shows that he was the son of Thomas Ekins, the bishop's transcript says he was the son of Thomas and Elizabeth Ekins. The problem is, I can't find any Thomas and Elizabeth Ekins having children at the time. I believe he was the son of Thomas and Mary Woodruff Ekins. I just can't prove it. No will. I also have a lot of info on this family. Would you be willing to e-mail? How are you related to this family? Karen

Ahh the mystery deepens...I love a good mystery. Yep i would love to find out what info you have and share what info I have. My maiden name is Ekins and I am a direct descendant of the Ekins who were in the Manor House in Warboys. The Ekins that you are enquiring about are related to the ones from Warboys I just ahve to find the link...or have I already found that...can't remember...too many of them!! And the printout is HUGE!! Some of the Ekins from Warboys and Raunds ended up in the USA.

So how are you related to Ekins line??

I was reading your inquery and thought that I would pass along some info: John Ekins (b.1785) married to Mary Eaton has parents named Thomas (b.1757) and Eliabeth Clark (b. abt. 1757). Thomas' father is John(2); John(2)'s father is John(3); John(3)'s father is Henry. Elizabeth Watkins, AnnDrage, and Ann Joyce are their respective wives as far as I have been able to verify.
