My wife's ggg grandmother was Sivina Phaler(Failor), daughter of Mary and (probably) Francis Phaler(Failor). Sivina was the wife of Martin Armbrust and her headstone in the Beirne Cemetery in Clark County, Arkansas, indicates that she was born April 26, 1836. Other informal sources indicate that she was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, but I haven't been able to confirm that other than that the census shows her to be born in Ohio. Though family information spells the surname Phaler, the 1870 Wayne Township, Muskingum County, Ohio, census lists Mary (living with her daughter and son-in-law in household 198) as Mary Failor, 67 years of age born in Bavaria. This is the only documentation that I have been able to locate for Mary and I have found none for Thomas though I believe that he, too, was born in Bavaria and that he and Mary were married there before coming to the United States in the 1820s or early to mid 1830s. Does any of this connect with or suggest anything to others interested in the Failor name? Hints or suggestions that would facilitate further research would be appreciated. By the way, I have data on more than 250 descendants of Sivina for any relatives out there that may be interested.
