My husbands grandfather was Owen James Prowell, in fact my husband is named after his grandfather. We are having a Prowell Reunion Sat, July 19, 10 to 4 at Salem Church on Valley Road, Etters, Pa. You are welcome to attend. What would you like to know about these prowells, the ones you mention are all in line, I wrote a Prowell History lisitng all of those Prowell's and have done extensive research on this Prowell Line since I married into it over 40 years ago.

Hello Eileen,
I am here to tell you that is my husbands grandfather, Owen James Prowell, his great grandfather is John W Prowell married to Willet. I have done lots of research on the Prowell's from York County, Penna. who decend from a James Prowell from Chester County, Pa. I tried to answer your inquiry on another website but it will not let me send to you for some reason, maybe because I am not registered with that site. Contact me at happypro@comcast.net and maybe we can go over what you are interested in. We just had a Prowell Reunion at Salem Church, across the road from the old Prowell Homestead on Valley Road, Etters, Pa. I gave a talk about the property and its line of ownership in respect to the Prowell's. For your information, Owen James Prowell is buried at the Salem Cemetery where we held the reunion. What would you like to know, I think I read in the other message that you are working with a sister in law and she may be related to this Prowell Line. Who is your sister in law? If I remember correctly, I believe there was a Prowell from Clearfield County, who married a Brown, are you related. I think this was a George Prowell, correct? And I think the town was Burnside, correct?

forgive me for not replying sooner have been away for a while. I got the bible frrom Bessie Dugans estate back in the 70s. She lived in Yokumtown Pa. House was torn down in 70s. The property was given to the church. Her sister Minnie married into the Prowell family, Sam eas her husband. He owned a mill on the york road. It was once a resteraunt. I have a blueprint showing a mill update. My grandfather was Ralph W Prowell he divorced my grandmother in the early 1920's. She was Ester Snyder. One of her sisters married a beshore. The family stills owns thw farm that was my great grandmas. I was once at Owen Prowells house but dont know how I was related to him..Around Etters Pa my grandfather was know as "Dutch" Prowell. The bible I have is very worn but is readable. Give me some time and I will send you some more info thanks Rick

Darlene thankyou received it have been busy with holidays but it answered and cleared up many gaps in my tree. I began to realize what a vast amount of work you have done to create this history. I plan to take some time in the future to see that church in Philly. Also spend some time in New Cumberland area in spring. Thankyou for making my search much easier. Rick
