Ms. Whyte, I am wanting to find out how to order the book Swearingen/Van Swearingen and Related Families. I have been doing a family newsletter for a year now and before I include information a cousin gave me, I would like to see if I can verify it on our Swearingen ancestors. The information I have shows our Swearingen line to be: Garrett(wife, Barbarah de Barrette), Thomas (wife, Jane Doyne or Riley), John (wife Mary Ray), Thomas (wife Mary Baker?), Thomas (whose second wife was Elizabeth Pope),Bennett(my gx2grandfather. wife, Sarah Robinson married Dec. 27, 1827 in Brooke County, Virginia). Would your book help me connect the line to Bennett? Thanks for your help.

Sorry I didn't see your first message. You can order my book through me if you want: Karel L. Whyte, 224 Heathwood Dr, Aiken, SC, 29803, $33 (covers postage and packaging also). However, I have compiled a document for you that I believe gives you what you need and if you will email me personally, I will send it to you, no charge of course.

Do you have any research on Nicholas Whyte in St. Louis 1850's m. Anna Walsh and had 4 children Nicholas R, Thomas, Mary and Anna - Nick R was said to have been raised by 2 aunts from England (according to a cousin)but he was with his parents in the 1900 census of St. Louis, MO.

I wish I could help, but my family of JAMES WHYTE arrived in NYC about 1880 from Kirkaldy, Scotland. As far as we know, he was the first of our branch to come to America.

Ms Whyte, I am also considering buying your book. I wondered if it contained information on the John Van Swearingen's (born 1772, wife martha Chapman, and decendant of Gerrett Swearingen through the 4th branch) children. I am specifically looking for his daughter Catherine and her husband Thomas Woods. Thanks in advance. Lisa Pender penderlj@yahoo.com

I just stumbled over this post and thought I would help out. Karel Whyte passed away in 2004. Her daughter has made the book available via Lulu.com I actually just ordered one today. You can find the book here:

Hi just saw this post and since it is 11 yrs old I thought I better see if you are still in the business of selling your book; and of course the pricing would be different. Please let me know.

Just one more question I related to the Swearingen through Mary Jane Swearingen; I have heard conflicting stories about being related to the Bolling family. Do you know if we are or are not?

Thanks so much
Carlile
