I was working on my 3x Great grand father and I think I am stuck. I am looking for any type of documentation that says what his parents names are.

His name: William G.H. Core 1828-1900 married Adelia C. (also looking for marriage info to confirm maiden name)

If you might have locations and dates for the persons you're seeking information about, it would be very helpful in pointing you to more resources.

Main article: West Virginia in the American Civil War

In 1861, as the United States itself became massively divided over regional issues, leading to the American Civil War (1861–1865), the western regions of Virginia split with the eastern portion politically, and the two were never reconciled as a single state again. In 1863, the western region was admitted to the Union as a new separate state, initially planned to be called the State of Kanawha, but ultimately named West Virginia.

Link to his obit - he sounds like a character, and a man with conviction!

Searching the US genweb site for Pleasants County, WV was helpful - I learned that William was a native of Harrison County, and he and Adelia came to Pleasants County in 1848- bio information is not always accurate, but it gives a starting point. I also discovered that their daughter Bertha, who was married to Clemmons in 1900, remarried and became Bertha Baxter. I then looked on the WV vital records site, and found Bertha's death certificate
http://www.wvculture.org/vrr/
It lists her parents as W.G.H. Core and Adeline C. Barrick.

The other hint I found - in the 1860 census, there is a Charlotte Core, age 22 living with William and Delia. I wonder if she was his sister? Her marriage record lists her father as David Core.

This find a grave memorial also states adelia's surname was Barrick. She died in 1911

William's memorial has his birthplace as Greene County Pennsylvania, which is also where Charlotte Core says she was born on her marriage doc.

Here is the findagrave memorial for Charlotte Core Watson, that lists her parents as David Core and Margaret Reitz.
You might contact the person listed as the maintainer of the memorial, to see if he has sources to verify that, and her connection to W.G.H.
