HIS NAME WAS SPELLED ISHAM ON MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE TO SARA ANN CASH RILEY BUT HE DID NOT SIGN ONLY MADE HIS MARK, SO THE SPELLING COULD BE ANY OF THE ABOVE. HE IS MY HUSBANDS GR GRANDFATHER AND THE FAMILY KNOWS ONLY THE FOLLOWING ABOUT HIM. HE MARRIED SARA ANN CASH RILEY (WIDOW) IN HICKMAN CO CLINTON KY ON 11/27/1880. THEY HAD ONE SON NAMED OSCAR MADISON DALTON BORN 11/25/1882. SARA AND ISHAM DIVORCED IN 1884. NO TRACES OF ISHAM SINCE THEN. OSCAR NEVER SPOKE OF HIS FATHER. THE FAMILY HAS SEARCED FOR INFO RE: ISHAM FOR MANY MANY YEARS. DOES ANY ONE HAVE AN ISHAM IN THEIR FAMILY LINE BEFORE 1880 OR AFTER 1884 THAT COULD HAVE POSSIBLY BEEN A DRIFTER TO THE WESTERN KENTUCKY AREA? WOULD APPRECIATE ANY INFO NO MATTER HOW REMOTE. CAN REPLY TO MESSAGE BOARD OR E-MAIL ME AT rdalton@wk.net. thanks!

This is a long shot.

Oscar D. Dalton born 1833 , Madison County, Missouri. . Oliver's parents were from Logan County, Ky.

He had a son listed as "Isam" (Isham was a common name in Dalton families, often spelled "Isom")

I have a list of eight children of two marriages for Oscar, four by each wife. His second wife was Pauline White who he married in 1873. An "Isam" is of the first marriage, wife unknown. Full brothers to Isam were John, Elijah and Oliver, Jr..

Oscar, Jr. must have died young as a child of the second marriage was also named Oscar.

I know nothing else of Isam but Madison County, Missouri was not far from Hickman County, Ky.

There was a Cash family connection to these SE Mo Daltons but I cannot locate the reference right now.
