Help please, just loaded FTM 2012 and when I go to connect to Ancestry.com to download my family it brings up the box for username and password, but when I put it in it states access denied or wrong pass....basically wont let me in. But I can login ancestry.com fine via internet....

FTM (which I am new to) is unlike software that most people use these days. The functionality seems very 90's or even '80s.

Anyway, what they choose to not tell you is you probably have to download an FTM update. When I get that quaint "your login is bad BAD" message, I usually quit, relaunch, and download the unannounced update.

(I'm on a Mac, its under the menu item Family Tree Maker 2 > Check for Updates. Not sure where the Windows version is.

You've probably already thought of this, but might your keyboard caps lock be on?

You might try:

Bring up an ancestry page where you are logged in. Log out. Log out of ALL tab and pages you have open in your browser.

Then, bring up FTM. Can you see your on-line info in the Plan Workspace on the Dashboard in the right panel?

If not, try Help - Activate Ancestry

If that doesn't work, you might try their 800 number tomorrow. Support can help get you up and running again.
