Does sync sync?

Does sync sync?

So, I'm looking at a photo on the web version of my Ancestry tree (I uploaded it earlier today). And I have FTM open too. Clicking that sync button will not suck the photo down though.

FTM tells me:
Online and local trees are in sync.
No changes were made to the trees, so they do not need to be synced

But ... they DO need to be synced. What's the deal? Is there a time limit? Does it wait a day before tolerating my humble request?

Syncing media between FTM and AMT can occur in the background. In fact if you sync an FTM tree with a lot of media, you actually get a message indicating that the media is being synced in the background and lets you continue with what ever you want to do in FTM/AMT

One point of caution - although the media does sync, and may be sync-ing in the background, as John mentioned, FTM does not automatically make a photo the "primary" as designated in your online tree.

Try looking at the person profile in FTM, to see if the photo is there. You can then make it primary in FTM by right-clicking on the silhouette for that person.
