Does anyone know how to mark an individual as living/deceased in FTM 2012? I can do it on the Ancestry website (when you edit an individual there is a choice of 2 radio buttons 'living' and 'deceased'). I know that there are other ways to do this, but I'm looking for this exact feature in FTM. I thought that it was available in an older version of FTM but I'm not 100% sure.

Thanks

There is no such tag in FTM.

You can:

1) enter an estimated birth date, which will be used in privatization procedures (either within FTM or ancestry.com or worldconnect.com or wherever) by the criteria of: privatize people under x years old that don't have a death entry.

2) Enter anything in the Death Place field (eg USA), or certain text strings in the Death Date field: "?", dead, deceased, infant, etc - see the Help file for the complete list.
