Looking for Johann Schnabl (Married Agnes Wiseck) living in Austria. Alois Schnabl (born 1900 in Austria) was a brother or son, not sure. I know Alois married 2 Schuller (Mary and Pauline)girls(cousins) through arranged marriages. I am also looking for Valentine Nessman who married Marie (Schuller or Schnabl) not sure of her connection. It is believed that Johann Schnabl's mother was Helena Nessman. The families all seemed to come from same small village and stayed close to each other when they immigrated to US...all settling in Milwaukee, Wisconsin area. Any help would be MUCH appreciated!!!

Be sure to consider Milwaukee's German newspaper collection for researching this family group. For instance Valentine Nessmann placed Marie Sarnitz Nessmann's death notice in these papers in 1942, and Marie was apparently very involved with Milwaukee's Austrian community as 2 of the women's clubs placed notices in these papers as a tribute to her (Oestrr. Frauen K. U. V. Edelweis & Doppeladler Frauen K. U. V.). There was also a wedding anniversary clipping for the couple in 1929.

There are about 15 Nessmann, 80 Schnabl / Schnabel, 18 Schuller entries or references found in the local resource "Milwaukee's German Newspapers; an index of death notices and related items" (1844-1950).

"is there any way to access the Milwaukee's German Newspapers, other than going to a local library"

The large collection of German-American papers (published in Milwaukee 1844-1950) are not online at this time. There are two unique collections in 2 local libraries.
I have not also financed a free website for this Milwaukee-German-American index resource. Of course, that doesn't cancel out the value of a research lead.
I do charge a nominal fee per clipping, but family researchers have always used multiple ways to collect records and clippings.
