My grandmother, Maria Magdalena Ender, was born in Altach,(or Altag), Vorarlberg, on March 7,1864. We think her parents were Anna Maria Giesinger and Johann or Peter Ender. Maria Magdalena Ender was married to Georg Hoegler in Bregenz on February 14, 1887, We would love to have more information about grandmother's family.

Ridy-Maria,

since microfilms of all parish records of Altach are in the Landesarchiv of Bregenz I took out a few data of your ggmother M.M.Ender. In this files she got married on 13.2.1886 to Georg Hoegler. Hoeglers father came from Krain (today Slovenia) to Bregenz and started a business as a fotographer.
Altach was a very small village in the 19. century therefore there were only a few surnames and almost all the people were related somehow,. So don't be surprised about the recurrence of the same names.
Magdalenas parents:
Josef Peter Ender, farmer, b. 7.2.1835 Altach, d. 26.8.1907
>>his p: Josef Anton Ender, taylor, b.1790

Katharina Giesinger, b. 1809
Anna Maria Giesinger, b. 2.8.1842 Altach, d.10.5.1900
>>her p: Johann Georg Giesinger

Maria Magdalena Ender (!)
Josef Peter und Anna Maria got married on 13.5.1862

Hope this is helpful for you.
Regards
Meinrad Pichler

I must be related to you somehow

I am related to ALL Giesingers in some way or another because my mother was a Giesinger.
I have a book that is titled "History of the Giesinger (Gisinger) Kinship" written by Paul Giesinger. The book contains the interpretation of the Giesinger family shield, where the name originated from, where the early Giesingers emigrated to and some have a possible solution as to why, pictures, and the genealogy of the Giesingers for a long way back to just about the first Giesinger ever written down and accounted for.

I have been looking in the book for an Anna Maria, a Johann Gregor, and a Kathrina Giesinger with the same birth or death dates to no avail. But I have found multiple Anna's (with no Maria), Johann's, Johann Gregor's, and Kathrina's. In fact I found a Kathrina with a birth date close to the one from one of the responses I read: her father was Philipp Jakob Giesinger, her mother was Barbara Riel, and her birth-date was 1802 and she was born in Alsace.

Please respond if you find other names with the last name of Giesinger, because they may be in the book! or if you are interested in some of the Giesinger history.

P.S. Giesinger can also be spelled Geisinger and Gisinger, it doesn't matter, I'd still be related somehow!

Do you have a Joseph Carl Geissinger b. 5 Nov 1740 md. Catherine? They immigrated from Goetzis Vohlberg Austria in 1766 to America and settled in PA before going to Perry Co., OH. I'm looking for Mary Guisinger b. 1805 Maysville, Mason Co., KY. I think she might be their dau.

I have an Anna Maria Gisinger b. 1708 in Goetzis, Vorarlberg. Father Erasmus Gisinger, mother Barbara Heinzle. Anna Maria married Michael Heinzle 1 Mar 1734 also in Goetzis, Vorarlberg. They had 12 children (6 males, 6 females) including an Anna Maria b. 1741. I would be interested in other children of Erasmus and Barbara, as well as their parents.

Hi, my Grandmother's maiden name was Anna Maria Giesinger, born 13.Jan. 1911 in Bacsalmas, Hungary. My Grandparents moved to Germany later. I would like to know where her family came from (Germany or Austria probably). Or how I can get access to the hungarian church records from the US. Anybody else who is also researching this name would you have any information on an immigration to Hungary?
