Fuller Sr and Laura EATON moved from New York to Brooklyn Township, Marquette (later Green Lake) County, WI, about 1846. Laura died in 1847, and Fuller Sr died about 1862. Their children were Rebecca Jane, who married David J. MATHEWS; Lyman B., who married Mary Jane SAWYER; Benjamin D., who married Augusta Katherine WEIDMANN; Lucy Angeline, who married Isaac LYNG; Laura Jeanette, who married (1) Samuel DAVIDSON, and (2) James Morris HASKINS; Fuller Jr, who married Mary GAY; and Sarah L., who married Charles Abraham NORTON. Accompanying them to Green Lake County were two children from Fuller Sr's first wife, namely Van Rensselaer EATON, who married Anna Angeline DAVIS; and George EATON, who married Abigail BALDWIN. I wish to communicate with others researching these families.

Hi,
Do you know where the Eatons came from before NY?
My g g grandmother, was Frances Eaton Chatwood, who emigrated with her husband, Wm. Thomas Chatwood and 7 children. They arrived in NY in 1849, then to Dodge Cty, WI, Waushara, and Columbia Counties, before ending up in Winona, MN.
They were from the Market Drayton area of Shropshire.

Not sure if this means anything or not!
Ina

I'm related to the "Mary Gay" who married Fuller Eaton Jr. She was a widow, maiden name Mary C. Durgee. So, when did Fuller Jr. and Mary die?

Has anyone found a county history with a write-up on one of the sons of Fuller Eaton? The write-up might mention Fuller's parents.....that would be your proof that Benjamin was the father of Fuller. Sons were: William R, Van Rensselaer, George, Lyman B, Benjamin D, & Fuller H

Hello! I'm a descendent of Lucy Angeline and Isaac Lyng. I am looking for information on Issac Lyng's Birth and who his parents were. Otherwise, I have a lot of info about the rest of the family!

Hello Jerry Lee…
I noticed you copied a photo of our Great Grand Father; Uriel Cheeney and his son Thomas Myron Cheeney. My Grand Mother is Mary Cheeney Coleman; Uriel's daughter. We have many more photos.
Are we related?
I am wondering if you would have any info on our family that we are unable to find.
Thank you… (Maybe a cousin) Mary

Hello Mary!
We are indeed related, but only by marriage I think. Your
grandmother Mary's brother, Thomas Myron Cheeney married my great grand aunt Filura Wilson in 1889.
As for information, I'll look and see what else I have, but it would mainly be regarding their wedding. I'd be happy to do local searches though, as I'm in Minnesota and I can piggy-back other research questions as well. Also, there's a wealth of info at the Minnesota History Center that's not on the internet, so I'm happy to help!
As for my end, if you have any info on Thomas Myron Cheeney and their children, that would be wonderful, as I don't know much about them. I don't even know when he died, for example.
In any case, I'm very happy to have met you (the genealogist is a lonely hunter) and am always happy to help others!

PS. Oh, if you are in contact with any of Thomas and Filura Cheeney's descendants, you might let them know that Filura Wilson was descended from the Mayflower Pilgrims on BOTH sides of her family, from her paternal grandmother Filura Grover Wilson, and of course from the Eatons, although I understand the Mayflower Society won't accept Eaton descendants because of some shoddy recordkeeping in the 17th or early 18th century. I was shocked actually, because as we all know, mistakes almost never appear in the records we study! ;-)

I think it will be engraved on my tombstone:
"Never discovered the New York origins of Isaac Lyng. Now has gone to ask him in person."
