Hello . I was wondering if you have any information on a
May Hartle . My great grandmothers name is May Hartle - who married a Blaine Hedge . They had children but separated . The family lost track of May . We do know that she had another child , Daris ,after leaving. Any information would be helpful . I'm thinking maybe she could of been one of the 12 siblings listed for Frank & Bertha Hartle .

Hello, Frank (Francis Joseph)and Bertha Eisenman Hartle were my grandparents. My father was Walter (Jack) Hartle. He was raised on a farm in Shippenville, PA with 12 siblings.

If you are interested in the names of all 13 children, please let me know...only two now survive..Hilda and Georgia. There are cousins in the Shippenville and Clarion area, also.

As I stated in previous posts..I am new to this. My family has a book with a lot of information on the Hartle side of your family. My father was Walter (Jack) Hartle and very close to Aunt Henrietta growing up. We were upset that we weren't notified of her passing. My grandfather's name was Francis (Frank) Joseph Hartle and my grandmother was Bertha Estelle Eisenman Hartle. The first of the Hartles came through, I think Buffalo, NY from Austria, Adam Hartle and I believe his wife was Elizabeth and she was from Germany. I can get the book and give you more information if you'd like. Many of the Hartle siblings used nick names, mainly the men. :) Eve

One of my ancestors is Henry Hartle, son of Adam Hartle and Gertrude Thoma. Henry was born near Fonda NY abt 1775, family moved to Cornwall,Ontario as Loyalists. Henry died and shortly after so did he wife. Children were apparently raised by relatives. Henry had a son John, who in turn had several sons, some of whom moved to western Ontario. We have lost track of Wm and Henry T, who may have moved back to the US.

Mary, are you referring to the Henry Hartle who married Margaret Meyers?

I believe he was the son of Johannes Hertel (1717-1804) and Regina Falck (1730-1809). Johannes was the son of Adam and Gertrude.

I am sorry it took me so long to get ahold of the Hartle book...The Adam that is in this ancestory book was born Oct. 28, 1827 in the village of Brand, near the city of Dachau Prope near Eger Presiesner Kiries in Bohemia, now a part of Czechoslovakia (when this book was printed) and near the German border. Adam died May 4, 1889 son of Johann Michael Hartl and Anna Maria Bohm. Adam was married to Elizabeth Dechant..they were married in Fryburg in a triple wedding ceremony at St. Michael's Church. I will look for further info. for you but, I don't see the names you were looking as of yet. Eve...
