I am the daughter of Yvan Paquet of Shippagan N.B
I am currently researching my family tree.
The information I have is that my Grandmother Lauza Miloza Mallet 1905-1989 she was born in Shippagan, she went on to marry my Grandmother Joseph Paquet

Her Parents were Emma Smith (No Birth or Date of Death) her parents are unknown..I did have a relative tell me that she came from Ireland.

She went on to marry Jose Martin Mallet 1883-? They were married March 6 1905.

Their children are as follows:

Rita Mallet
Ernest Mallet
Edwidge Mallet
Lauza Miloza Mallet 1905-1989
Catherine Emma Alma 1907-930
Gervais Mallet 1908-1972
Elodie Mallet 1909 - 2003
Albanie J. Mallet 1911- 2001

I am mainly looking for the Smith connection, who her parents were etc.

Thanks
Cindy Paquet

Found the following in Daniel Johnson's newspapers archives:

Date June 21 1883
County Saint John
Place Saint John
Newspaper The Daily Telegraph

m. At residence of W.S. BROWN, Shippegan (Glouc. Co.) 17th ult., by Rev. Joseph Trudelle, Parish Priest, Reuben SMITH, late of Redbank (North. Co.) / Miss Kate POULIS, Caraquet.

The name is probably Paulin

In my notes, Theotiste Paulin, d\o Xavier et Angele Frigault
married Ruben Smith, s\o Ruben and Ann Edgen of Miramichi in 1883.

So it fits. What do you think?

Now just look at Canadian census for more details on families.

Thanks,
It does explain some info.
I'm really having a hard time with my ggrandmother Emma Smith's father Ruben Smith.. according to the census that I have he was born in Barbados West Indies in 1848.
It is also listed that he is Irish/Scottish.. my Father has always been told that we have Irish/Scottish decent but we have no other info than that..
I have stepped away from my search for a bit but I've found I need to start again.
Thanks for the help
