Siren Cemetery??

Hello,
My great-grandfather Lawrence Kiehl lived in Siren, Burnett County for several years and died there in 1943. His death certificate stated that he was buried in 'Siren Cemetery'. However, I can't find that cemetery now and I can't seem to find any other cemetery in Siren either. Does anyone know what happened to Siren Cemetery? What cemeteries presently exist in Siren and what are their addresses/phone numbers? Thanks.

Dana Kiehl

My Grandparents the Spangberg`s were from Siren and they are baried in the siren Cemetary. I wil check with my Aunt, Elizabeth Olson of Cushing, WI and find out about the cemetary there.

Joann,
Thanks for the reply. Since I posted my message last year, I was able to find that the Siren Cemetery is also known as Siren Lakeview Cemetery (and even Lakewood Cemetery), though I'm still not sure it's official name or exactly where it's located.

I've been doing cemetery searches of my own lately. Lakeview Cemetery also is called Mudhen Lake Cemetery. It is located west of Siren on Highway 70 about 3 miles (I think), near where Daniels Road/Old 70 comes out.
It's a pretty good-sized cemetery.

Good Luck.

Hi Dana,
Was recently at the Siren Cemetery to take photos of some tombstones for my research and it is very easy to find. If you haven't yet found your name or visited the cemetery itself I would be glad to do an inquiry on your name you are looking for. I go to Siren at least twice a week so it would be no problem. Let me know if I can be of help.

The Siren Cemetery is right off Highway 35 on the south end of Siren on Cemetery Road.

There are 2 cemeteries close to Siren. The Siren/Lakeview cemetery on the south side of town located on Cemetery Rd. (the road actually goes through the cemetery since they had to expand). And then there is Mud Hen Lake cemetery which is right on Hwy 70 W going from Siren to Grantsburg. This cemetery is on the south side of the road and visable from the highway.

There is a Burnett County Cemetery listing available.
The name Kate Kiehl 1873-1926 is listed in the Siren Lakeview Cemetery but I did not find Lawrence listed in either The Siren Lakeview or the Mud Hen Lake Lakeview Cemetery.
