Searching for Maiden name of Great-great grandmother TELITHA ELIZA TUCKER, born circa 1825 in N.C.- wife of GEORGE W. TUCKER, born circa 1825, Georgia. Among their children were: NANCY TUCKER, born 1844, who married about 1867- JOHN THOMAS REGISTER, born August 25, 1845; John Tucker, born abt 1847; Rebecca Tucker, born abt 1848; Mary Tucker, born abt 1850; Malatha(?) Tucker, born abt 1853; Telitha Tucker, born abt 1856; Louisa Tucker, born abt 1855; Henry A.Tucker, born abt 1860.

GEORGE W.TUCKER, born 1825, Georgia, was a son of HENRY C. TUCKER and Henry's first wife (?) ______________. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

According to one of the Family Tree Maker CD's, your Telitha was a WATSON before becoming a Tucker.

My information shows George Washingotn Tucker was the first son of Henry Crawford Tucker and his first wife, Nancy Sapp.George was born Joly 20, 1825 in Montgomery County, Georgia and died June 20, 1904. He is buried at the Ila Elm Cemetery in Colquitt County, Georgia. George married Elizabeth Telitha Watson April 08, 1843.

My husband's ggrandmother was Malatha TUCKER who was born on November 4, 1852 in Georgia. She married Abram Gabriel MASSEY on February 11, 1875 in Colquitt Co., GA. I would like to know if this is the same Malatha TUCKER?

Josiah and Ruth Hunter Brooks, from North Carolina settled there in the 1820's. They moved to Newton Co., GA around 1832, but I think some of their older offspring stayed around Moultrie. I think one more may have moved back. All this is in "Brooks and other Kindred Families" by Ida Brooks Kellam published in 1950. I'm descended from them. If you have any specific names, I'll be happy to check the book for you.
