My Heisler line is from the Chicago area. They came from Germany ca 1855 and I may be searching for two Heisler lines. Earliest I have found is Martin and Marguerite Heisler. Their daughter, Helen or Lena, married George
Frederick Heisler. George and Lena's son George J. married
Susan Ludwig, George and Susan's son George N. married Mamie Helfen. Would love to get this family straightened out.

I am hoping we are looking for the same family...this is what I have.....

MARTIN HEISSLER married MARGARET ??
and they had
ELIZABETH HEISSLER who married LORENZ SCHNIDT.
ELIZABETH was b 11-28-1849 in Trier,Germany and
d 7-17-1930 in Chicago. They were married in Chicago
Oct 1868. They had 6 children:
LOUISA,JOHN,FRANK,CLARA,AMELIA and ELLA.

I found a HEISSLER relative about a year ago and she spells it like you do...HEISLER...she has done extensive research and was very helpful to me. By the way, Elizabeth is my great-great-grandmother. If you would contact me directly I can give you more information if you think we have the same family.
I look forward to hearing from you.

I am wondering if your lines somehow connect with a Joseph Heisler who was born in Nebraska and died in Weyburn Saskatchewan after having sixteen children with Adelaide Kraft with the marriage occurring in Allan, Saskatchewan. My Grandmother is their daughter Adelheid. Thankyou.

The Heislers I have found stayed in the Chicago area. They came to that area mid 1850's and there is a lot I don't know about them. I have not found any who went to Iowa but it could be. George, Martin and Frederick seem to be common names in the family.

Hello,
I'm from Cedar Falls, IA. I was told my ancestors came from Illinois and settled near Parkersburg and Grundy Center, Iowa. I've lived in Black Hawk county all my 63 years. My great-grandfather, Conrad Hoazler (later changed to Heisler) homesteaded near Parkersburg. One of his sons, Frank Heisler (a talented muscian as am I am my siblings) moved to Black Hawk county. He married Mary Jane Wells, and his only son Harry Frederick Heisler (my dad) married Agnes Brown (Pennsylvania Dutch) and hatched me. My parents (dad was an inventor) developed Heisler Manufacturing in Waterloo and later, Hudson, IA. Their tractor repair and upgrading parts are in high demand by antique tractor buffs since they are not available. If I had the money, I'd start a small custom shop (I've the knowhow and skills) for those tractor buffs wishing they had that governor, live power take off, overdrive, etc.). My distant relatives were supposed to have come from the part of Austria near Germany.
I hope this is of interest and even a help to you on the Heisler mailing list. How can I get on it? I've only just discovered this tonight.

My grandmother, Mary Elizabeth Heisler, was born in Iowa and lived there her entire life. She was married twice: to George Gifford and Dale Van De Walker. She died in Sioux City, Iowa in July 1979. She was the oldest of about 5 children. My Iowa cousins are working on a geneology chart but I don't how far they have gotten.

I have recently started on my family history. My family is in Indiana and what caught my eye is that you spell your middle name the same as my maternal grandmother...Mae. Her full name was Flora Mae Mae Heisler and she lived in Buck Creek, Indiana. She had one sister named Mary. She married Joseph Earl Younker and they had eleven children.

Since this is my husband's line and he is deceased, I don't know a lot about the Heisler family. He was an only child and I am at the "brick wall". About all I know is that the family came from Germany and settled in Chicago. The names you mentioned don't ring a bell and I don't know if any of them lived in Indiana. Sorry I can't help.

I have information regarding this request. My information is quite different. My great grandmother is Adelheid Kraft and my great grandfather is Joseph Heisler. My information is Joseph Heisler died and is buried in Deer Lodge Montana. This has been confirmed by the Town of Deer Lodge. My grandfather is Jacob Heisler. He is the son of Joseph and Adelheid.
