I have an Elizabeth McCARROLL that married William "Billy" YOUNG in Barbour Co. Ala. 5 May 1842. She was born in Georgia @1820. Her father may have been a Perry McCARROLL, or her brother may have been Perry McCARROLL. Elizabeth & William YOUNG moved from Barbour Co. Ala. to Rocky Mount, La. in Bossier Par. @1850. They had 6 children: Warren Perry, Warner Reuben, Amanda Irene, Mary Susan & Nancy Catherine, & Charlotte YOUNG.
If you know this McCARROLL please contact me. I would like to find out who her parents were.
Thanks,
Kay

I have searched and searched for McCarroll's in Barbour County, Alabama. I may have a connection to your Perry McCarroll, however, I didn't bring my search criteria with me to work this morning. I'll e-mail you from home this evening with the information I have just in case you haven't made a connection as yet.

My g-grandfather was Samuel McCarroll, born Jan. 24, 1845, he had several brothers and sisters. I apologize for responding without much information, but am so pleased to finally find a possible connection. He is buried in White Oak Cemetery, Eufaula, Ala along with his wife Caroline who's maiden name I don't know. He died in 1915

My home e-mail is PJParr@webtv.net.

I'll be in touch.

Reggie, I do not know who the parents of Elizabeth McCARROLL YOUNG were. I only was thinking that maybe the name "PERRY" was a family name as she named a son Perry.

Kay, Thanks for your return message. Let's keep in touch. I think that there has to be a connection between your Elizabeth McCarroll (born around 1820) and my David McCarroll (born around 1815) - with both having sons named Perry (Perryman) and David having a daughter named Elizabeth. Also, there were no other families that I have ever found in Quitman Co., GA or Barbour Co. ALA (adjoining counties) by the name of McCarroll other than that of David. I am still working on the John McCarroll possible connection. My preliminary guess is that your Elizabeth and my David were brother and sister. John McCarroll drew a lot in Randolph Co. GA (subsequently Quitman Co.) in one of the early Georgia land lotteries and that could be what moved him and his family to southwest GA. David's son Samuel (my Gr. Grandfather) ultimately moved to Barbour Co. ALA in the 1870's from Quitman Co. There was a very prominent Young family in Barbour Co. in the 1830' s-1840's, written about in a book called "Backtracking in Barbour County." William was a name in that family.
