I am looking for Josephine Christine Korum - born 4/8/1886 in Sweden. Died in Jamestown, but her father and mother was John Korum and Johanne Sletto. born in Norway

There were Norway born 'Korum' persons in Minnesota according to the censuses you can search at familysearch.org

One of those is a 1886 Minnesota born 'Josie Korum' who was the daughter of Johannes Korum from Norway (he also appears in the US censuses).

Your information of Sweden comes from where? and which Jamestown are you referring to? (there are many Jamestowns in many different US states)

they are telling me that they think that they had a child in Sweden before they came to the USA ,

According to the 1865 census for Rakkestad, Østfold, there was a "Johan Pedersen", 4 years old (born ca. 1861) living at the farm, "Korum vestre":

He ended up in Otter Tail county, Minnesota.

This leaves us "Johan Pedersen" to look at. Here is his birth record:

Korum holtet is another of the 4 parcels of the farm "Korum".

This Johan Pedersen Korum left Rakkestad on 14 Feb 1886,
I don't know why it says 19 May 1882 in the first column, but it does say his attest to leave was dated 14 Feb 1886.
His destination is "Borge", or similar - I am not sure of the spelling. He does not appear to be married at this time. The date of birth on this record (24 Jun 1862) does match his birth entry, so I do assume this is him.

Borge is a parish near Rakkestad.

Whether or not this is the correct "John Korum" still remains to be proved.

Here he is (bottom of page, between 5 and 6) arriving in Borge. I assume he moved there once in 1882, and was returning again in 1886.

We really can't continue trying to help without answers to the questions posed by "thoraway" in his message.

The 1885 census for Moe, Douglas county, Minnesota shows Arne and Karen Korum with their childen. This is intertesting as there is a family "Erick and Martha Sletto" on the same census page.

I believe the Josie Korum (born 1886) that thoraway found was living in Douglas county in the 1900 census, but not with her parents.
