Does anyone know of good free genealogy research sites? Most of what Im finding charge. I joined Ancestry.com and its worth every penny, but paying for sites can get rather expensive. I also use FindAGrave.com, but Im interested in finding more for my genealogy research. Would also like to know where I could get free genealogy forms. Any info is appreciated. Thanks!

Without knowing where in the world your ancestors lived, it's difficult to provide information. Check with your local family history societies and your local library. The LDS provides a vast amount of information for free via http://www.familysearch.org and https://www.familysearch.org/

Thank U for the response, My Dads family, that I know of came from North/South Carolina, with roots from Scotland, so far I have not come across any Scottish info, I may have not gone far enough yet.

— FamilySearch.org
— GenWeb for whatever counties and states you are researching (just type into Google "GenWeb" + "(fill in name of state or county)"
— Cyndislist.com to see links for NC/SC & Scotland
— Linkpendium to see similar
— deathindexes.com (sister sites are at the bottom of that home page, under "Genealogy Resources" or something. Joe Beine lists all known online info, and whether it is fee or free.
Also check local societies and libraries in your localities of interest, to see if they've posted any online databases that you can access. Also, many public libraries offer access to Ancestry Library Edition, Heritage Quest, or some online newspaper sites. Check on what's available for you.
