My maiden name is Moore and I was born in Bentonville, Benton Co., Arkansas August 11, 1939. I was born on a farm five miles from Bentonville and 2 1/2 miles from Centerton. My father was Walter Harold Moore and my mother was Bertrice Bell Corbett. Several of my older sisters were also born on the same farm. We migrated to New Mexico during the Second World War and were in Silver City, NM at the time of the bombing of Pearl Harbour. My father was born just north of Bentonville in Stockton, Missouri but spent much of his growing up years in and around Bentonville.

Hi Colleen,

Thanks for your reply, I'm pretty new at this and haven't had any luck finding any family in Arkansas. My fathers dad, my GF , name was Thomas William Moore-b. 1848 in NC as far as I can tell, he and his brother, John Goodrich-b. 1845 in Irdele county near a town named Statesville, moved to Benton County Arkansas in 1867. My GF married Mary S. Lewis and had nine children four boys and five girls.....Will, Gennie, Lena, Nan, Oma, John, Ethyl, Arley [ my dad ] and Charley does any names ring a bell? My two grandsons are the last members to carry on the Moore name in our family, that I can tell. Do you know if your dad had any brothers? The dates seem about right...........Tommy

Hello. I am currently researching my husband's family which includes a Moore family that lived in Benton Co, AR. Our Moore family includes John Green Moore (1880-1969) and wife Helen Curl Gore, their children were: Lena Bell, Mary, Johnnie (Female), Adelia, Harmon, and Maude. If these are related to your Moore family, I'd love to hear from you. I'm having trouble going back any farther on this line. Much appreciated. Wendy

Are you connected to John Henry Moore and Elizabeth Harmon who were married in Jefferson Co., Tennessee 21 Nov 1808?

Have been attempting to find descendants of this family. They were, I believe, in Bedford Co., TN at one time.

Elizabeth was born 13 Apr 1780.
