Hello Searches

My Grandparents were Daniel and Rose Nally Eliff (Elliffe in Ireland). They came to the US in 1891 from Redmondstown, Castletown Geoghegan, Co. Westmeath. Please contact me, as I have found information on them.

Hello Kathleeen,

I believe we are distant cousins. Your Rose Nally was a sister to my great-grandfather Thomas Nally. Thomas married Mary Gallagher in 1905. Their daughter Mary was my grandmother. She died on APril 10, 1984. She and her husband John McAndrew lived in Philadelphia PA.

Please contact me so that we can trade other family info with each other.

Tanya,

I have just come across your message.

I have been researching the Elliff family for about thirty years. The John William Eliffe who married Martha Ann Gregory is my 5th cousin, twice removed. If he is your great grandfather, then I calculate that you and I are 5th cousins, once removed. I am attaching John's details from my database. You can find more about his place in the Elliff family on my website (address below).

Regarding the Harry Eliffe who died in WW1. At present I can't connect him to my Elliff tree. I am attaching a tree that shows what I know of his family.

I hope this is of interest. I would love to find out more about your immediate family.

Regards,

Martin Elliff

Hi
Harry Eliffe (d1916), Frank and Leonard were sons of James Thomas Eliffe/Elliff/Cliffe and Hester/Esther. James was born in Yorkshire 1864,(d 1922?) his mother was Elizabeth. Leonard was father to Margaret and Geoffrey, who was my ex-husband's father, (siblings Geoffrey Paul, Adrian, Karen and Diane.
I don't have contact with any of the family, but my curiosity got the better of me, I thought they would be easy to trace, as I had never come across the Eliffe name outside of the immediate family.
I haven't found James and Hester marrying, but have found other references to them, he doesn't seem to have siblings.
