we are related to a daniel brown born around 1810 and was the father of daniel brown jr. born april 4th 1831 and died august 5th 1921. they were residents of oxford county. Daniel brown jr. would be my great, great, great grandfather. From daniel brown jr. he had a daughter martha who married charles collens, their daughter lotta married albert cole, their son (jack) john adrian cole was married to mollie gulliford, their son charles cole married rita zilke who are my parents. We would like information on daniel brown senior. We are also looking for a connection to the varnum mather and brown family as we believe that the mathers are also part of our family tree. Varnum mather or possibly warnum mather was holder of a crown deed in east oxford in 1805. We have found some information on a varnum mather who was married in 1864, but the one we are looking for would have to be older.

Hi! It was with great interest that I came across your Email as I had just returned from the archives in Toronto. I looked up the Charles Collens that married Martha Brown . We also have a Beaumont James Brown that married Clara Viola Collens ,and were interested to see if Charles was her brother and that perhaps they both married Browns. And if these Browns were brother and sister.I don't know of a Mather, sorry. Please if you could let me know of the Brown connection. Thanks so much Elizabeth.

hi Lori, as we are researching the collens family, here is what we have on the James and Clara Brown family.
Clara and James had six children;
Olive Nettleton June ,20 1900
Clarence Henry Feb. 24 1902
Dorthea Viola Dec. 16 1903
Audrey Irene Aug.7 1905
Arnold James April 11 1913
Vernon Earl April 10 1917

I have the wives and children . Do you want that as i would be happy to send it along, /we are about ready to print our revised family tree on the Collens and Chances out of woodstock.
the reason I was interested in Martha Brown ., she married a Charles Collens in Woodstock and their child was Fredrick William, B January 20th 1881. you mentioned a Daniel Brown and was wondering how they Joseph Alexander were related. we have Lottie as being the daughter of charles Henry and a Sarah Wastie As you can see we need some revamping here as we don,t want to assign children to the wrong parents before we print. Thanks Lori any way we can help . let us know and again if you want a copy of the Collens Chance tree we can do that also. Charles Henry being the son of Stephen and Mary Ward of Woodstock.
