I am interesting in learning more about of the Title name Faumuina, this family name was original from Western Samoa, from the village of Lepea, and later came to Tutuila and became one of the Paramount Chief of Tutuila, and became the head title of Sa'ole District, Government of American Samoa, and Tutuila as a whole.

Faumuina title is also known to Tutuila and Sa'ole District as "Tupufia"

Please help, very interesting in learning, my grand father, and my father were both title holder of the "FAUMUINA", and they both are deceased.

My family are faumuina's from Lepea. It was one my great grandmothers fathers titles. However, its hard to distinguish as some of the Lepea faumuinas later became faumuinas for Saleimoa. My great grandmothers side were the Malaitai and some other name I can't remember. My great grandfather was William McCarthy who took the Faumuina title and then married another woman in Saleimoa who also had a Faumuina, her name was Atele Pritchard.

My uncle called Faumuina lives in Lepea. It's been over 13 years since I left Samoa when I was a kid, but I remember he lived in a big fale'oo/falepalagi house on a great big green field which faces the road...to Pesega I believe. Anyway, he is related to my grandmother, Aitogi Masoe (married name) also of Lepea. My aunty and uncle Helen and Asi Blakelock also lives in Lepea. it was interesting reading about your family history....the Faumuina....I have all the respect for your family....im not related to your family but im doing a research about my family at Vailoa Faleata (near Lepea) and i think we have a connection going back....so please if you have any info about a link between Faumuina and the Nuu family of Vailoa Faleata or Nuu Pulega please let me know....i think there was a connection in the 1800's....about a friendship during the civil wars....

yep, i know about the GUU family in VAiloa ,but i dont know the connection , but the last GUU i know in the 80s was a good man , his kids are good friends of mine.they live next to the village pool, or next to the efks church.Vailoa is only part of Lepea village.GUU and KATERINA the couple, they are so so good people, he always told me a story or two about the past, that GUU .
