Hi my name is Simon I am 25 yrs old and I live in Milton Keynes, England. Our family always thought that we were the only people with the surname
Bail spelt our way. Please contact me if your family originally became from Buckinghamshire, England. My fathers name was also Richard, unfortunately he died a few years ago (cancer).
He was born in the 1940's and brought up in a small town called Aylesbury.

Hope to hear from you soon

Simon

My grandfather's family BAIL lived in and around Hertfordshire: St Albans, Watford, Ware etc. Children moved of course but I believe that my mothers nephews and niece are still in the West Country. Good luck in your hunt! My Great Grandfather Bail was a William and he had two sons only: William and Walter (my Grandfather). Be interesting if somehow we are connected.

Well! I see what I think are my ancestors in your post! My mother's family came from Watford, Bushey, Aldenham area, and my grandmother's from the Edgware Road area (she always claimed to be a Cockney, much to my mother's chagrin!) Anyway, I thought I would respond, just in case! Be interesting to find another distant relative!

Hi Simon

When we visited the UK back in 1977 I looked up several distant cousins who were both living in Aston Clinton. You might aware by now of the Australian connection but if you are not, do not hesitate to get in touch.
Kind regards

Trevor

I am interested to know of any Bail's that came to US and when they arrived. I am the oldest daughter of John William Bail born in W. Va, USA in 1932. He is the son Vernon Bail (1905) and Ruth Fischer (1899). I have never met or heard of any other Bail with same spelling. I was told the name is Welsh. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Simon,

My Ancestor, William Bail, was born in Bucks in 1764 and died in Dagnall, Bucks. in 1849. He married Alice (?). She was born 1766 in Herts and died in 1854 in Dagnall, Bucks. Their children were Alice, John (my ancestor, who died in Dagnall), George, Elizabeth, Jesse, Martha, Job, Joseph and Daniel.

Would be nice if our families connected somehow.

Regards,

Shirley (in Australia)
