Hi Jeremy..

Looking for my grandmother's "kin". She was Hattie Eakin born in 1878 in the US but her family came from Ireland - don't know where tho. Doing a family tree for my grandchildren would like to find some info.

How strange

Hi Jeremy

I'm from Northern Ireland originally. My parents live in Omagh, but my dad was born in Coleraine in 1940 (John Andrew Eakin).

His father was James Eakin who was born near Bushmills in 1910 (d 1996). James had about 9 brothers and sisters quite a few of whom never married and most are now dead.

I wonder if there is any connection between our families.

Andy

My Great Grandfather was from county Omagh probably in the mid 1800s. His name was Joseph Eakin. His son, Samuel Eakin was born in 1905 in Clanabogen, Ireland. He also had a son named Joseph and a daughter named Elizabeth born in the early 1900s in County Omagh. Have you come across any of these names and dates in your research?

Hi:
I have some Eakins in my family as well from Northern Ireland. One town that they were from was Limavady, Ireland. I have a David Eakin born in 1882. The family traveled back and forth from Ireland to Bellshill, Lanarkshire, Scotland. My Eakin married a Mary Jane Beattie, born in Scotland to Henry Beattie and Sarah Taylor both of Belfast area..Any relations? I cannot find David Eakin's parents but I would assume that David is a family name as he named his son David as well,..

thanks,

Christine Beattie
